Harvey Ray Teed
SEARSBORO -- Harvey Ray Teed, 82, of Searsboro, a former farmer in Jasper County, died Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. Dewey Grimes, pastor of the Assembly of God in Tama, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name will be accepted.
Survivors are three sons, Robert Teed and Tommy Teed, both of Grinnell, and J. E. Nichols of Carlisle; two daughters, Doris Hartley of Grinnell and Wilma Thomas of Bolivar, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a sister, Belle Ingersol of Madrid and two brothers, Roy and Orval, both of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, five sisters, a brother and two grandchildren.
Mr. Teed also had farmed in Poweshiek County before moving to the Searsboro area where he farmed until he retired.
The son of Squire and Eldie Neal Teed, he was born July 10, 1907 in Collins and attended rural Jasper County schools.
He was married to Janey Gertrude Gladys Skaggs Sept. 24, 1928 in Marshalltown.
