Olen T. Schweinebart, age 88, of Baxter, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Baxter Healthcare Center, Baxter, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 11, 2002, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter, Rev. Rollin Watters will be officating.

Friends may call for visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, at Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Restland Cemetery, Baxter, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Olen was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Rhodes, IA the son of Frederick and Opal Stinson Schweinebart. Raised and educated in the area of his birth, he attended Eden School #6 near Rhodes.

He was married to Bessie Arlene Miller on Nov. 22, 1944 in Baxter, and farmed in the Baxter area until his retirement in 1986.

Olen is survived by three sons; Ronald Schweinebart, James (Patty) Schweinebart and Fred (Teresa) Schweinebart, all of Baxter, five grandchildren: Roy Schweinebart of Kellogg, Jodie Schweinebart of Baxter, Wendy Dawson of Newton, MeLisa Schweinebart of Antigo, WI.,and Tracy Catron of State Center, ten great-grandchildren: Joshua and Madalyn Schweinebart of Kellogg, Jordan, Jake and Devin Wells of Baxter, Dakota Dawson of Newton, Rick and Samantha Henke of Antigo, WI., Lindsay and Danielle Catron of State Center, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bessie on Dec. 14, 1992, two sisters: Wilma Schweinebart and Frances Pink, two brothers: Harmon and Nile, grandson, Patrick and granddaughter, Valerie Schweinebart.
