Frances Louise Gerhart, 78, a lifelong resident of Jasper County and a resident of the Jasper County Care Facility, southeast of Newton, for many years, died Sunday, Feb. 21, at the facility.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Reese Chapel. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials to the Jasper County Care Facility may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a brother, Charles Gerhart, of Los Vegas, Nev., and five sisters, Mary Griggs of Newton, Gladys (Mrs. Harry) Reynolds of Longview, Wash ., Betty (Mrs. Loren) Craft of Cedear Rapids, Stella (Mrs. Bill) Jones of California and Phyllis Thompson of Baxter.

The daughter of William and Fern Holdefer Gerhart, she was born June 5, 1909 in Colfax. She was educated in Colfax schools. ~ The Newton Daily News, February 22, 1988.
