Geneva Tinnermeier

BAXTER - Funeral services for Geneva Tinnermeier, 72, of Baxter, a lifelong resident of Jasper county, were held today, Dec. 15, at the Bethany United Church of Christ east of Baxer.

The Rev. Jerry Stevenson, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Bethany Cemetery.

Memorials to th family may be left at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Survivors are her husband, Alvin, and two sisters, Emma Rumbaugh of Aurora, Ore., and Mamie Engle of Newton.

She was preceded in deth by her parents and a brother and a sister.

Mrs. Tinnermeier was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ.

The daughter of James J. and Emma Lind Engle, she was born June 20, 1914 at Metz.

She was raised and educated in Newton and was a 1934 graduate of Newton Community High School.

She was employed at Woolworth's in Newton.

She was married to Alvin Tinnermeier March 4, 1936 in Omaha, Neb.

They farmed near Baxter until moving to Baxter in 1957. Mrs. Tinnermeier has been a resident of Colonial Manor since May. ~ The Newton Daily News, December 15, 1986
