PRAIRIE CITY — Helen Rosalin Noon, 87, of Prairie City died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

A funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City Christian Church, with burial at Waveland Cemetery following. Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Mitchell Village Care Center.

The daughter of Carl and Mary Ada Jarnagin, she was born Aug. 9, 1918, in Prairie City. She graduated from Prairie City High School and worked at the Prairie City News until her marriage to Dale Noon in 1938. She enjoyed many crafts, hobbies and sewing. She also had her own hair styling business, doing hair for many friends and relatives. As her children grew, she returned to work, first as a waitress and then going to work for the State Bank of Prairie City in 1962 and continued working there and for the FDIC until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed playing card games and bingo.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Don) Green of Altoona and Betsy (Russ) Ferris of Conrad; her son, Dale (Dana) Noon Jr. of Des Moines; a son-in-law, Hank Rooda of Otley; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Engeline Jarnagin; three nieces; and one nephew.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a daughter, Donna Rooda; twin brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Lois Jarnagin; and her brother, Hugh Jarnagin.
