Genevieve Mills, 86, of Heritage Manor in Newton died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 11:30 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with Capt. Ron Cook of The Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Following burial, friends are invited for a time of fellowship at 12:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Citadel. Memorials will be accepted in her name.
The daughter of Raymond Lee and Anna Krieger Pinegar, she was born May 15, 1919, in Newton. She attended Newton schools. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married Elmer J. Mills in Indianola and was a homemaker.. She was a clerk at The Salvation Army in Newton, where she was a member.

Survivors include eight sons, James Mills, David Mills, Carroll Mills and Ernest Mills, all of Newton, Jack Mills of Des Moines, Bob Mills of Nevada, Tommy Mills of Texas and Donald Mills of Mounds View, Minn.; three daughters, Dorothy Ulrey and Marjorie Wylie, both of Newton, and Barbara Quick of Sioux Falls, S. D.; 16 grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Louise Pinegar, Anna May Prusia, Mable Çochran and Irene Williams; and four brothers, Raymond, George, Earl and Harry Pinegar.
