GRINNELL -- Geneive R. McIlrath, 89, of Grinnell, formerly of Jasper County, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the Grinnell Christian Church with the Rev. John Epperson officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Gilman.

Friends may call beginning at noon Feb. 20 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, where the family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Geneive McIlrath Memorial Fund to support Grinnell Regional Hospice and the Grinnell Christian Church.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Ron) Johnston of Grinnell, James (Patricia) McIlrath of Grinnell, Nancy (James) Williams of Grinnell, Marlene (Dale) Larsen of Grinnell, Kathleen (Pat) Brown of Grundy Center and Stanley (Pam) McIlrath of Grinnell; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Theodora Shaver of Newton; sisters-in-law, Maxine Iske of Grinnell and Jeannette Iske of West Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
