Fay Janice LaPage, 73, of Heritage Health Care in Newton died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A memorial service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Ken VanLoon, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, officiating. Burial will be in Michigan at a later date.

No visitation is planned. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of John Joseph and Viola McPherson Griffin, she was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Carsonville, Mich. She attended local schools in Michigan. She was a homemaker and a nurse's aide. She also worked in sales at a department store in Michigan and sold dresses. She enjoyed reading, flowers and gardening. She lived in Michigan prior to moving to Newton in 1996.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise (Lee) Williams of Newton; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Parker of Port Huron, Mich., and Nancy Coppenel of Howell, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Griffin.
