BAXTER -- Dean A. Hill, 44, of Baxter died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at his home in rural Baxter.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Restland Cemetery in Baxter with the Rev. Rollin Watters of Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter officiating. Mr. Hill's body has been cremated.

No visitation is scheduled. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made in his name to the Congregational United Church of Christ. The memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Ron and Donna Hill, P.O. Box 213, Baxter 50028.

The son of Ronald E. and Donna J. Van Baale Hill, he was born March 31, 1961, in Marshalltown. He graduated from Baxter High School in 1979 and worked as a press operator for Maytag Company for more than 13 years. He retired in 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Baxter and a member of UAW 997 and Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Rory Hill of Newton; and a sister, Kathy Malloy of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
