COLFAX — Darrell Charles Henning, 67, of Colfax died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in Quartzsite, Ariz.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax at 11 a.m., with lunch following the service.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Darrell C. Henning Memorial Fund.

The son of Theodore and Mildred (McMahon) Henning, he was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Iowa City. On Sept. 5, 1959, he married Sandra Sue Briear in Newton. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent 34 years working for ADM in Des Moines before his retirement. He was a member of the International Grain Millers Association in Des Moines and was also a life member of the NRA.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Darrell Ray (Valeria) Henning of Newton, James Allan Henning of Midland, Texas, and Michael Duane (Brenda) Henning of Atlantic; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Belva Annis of Milan, Mo., Ardis (Wayne) Blake of Simi Valley, Calif., and Joyce (Bert) Lawton of Langley, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Duane and Dale.
