Beulah M. Harris, 86, of Newton died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Community Heights Alliance Education Center in Newton. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pence-Reese Funeral Home, where family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Clyde and Nora Mae Fullerton Matherly, she was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Brooklyn. On Sept. 14, 1937, she married Lester E. Harris in Ft. Des Moines. She lived in Le Grand, State Center, Marshalltown, Grinnell and Newton.
Mrs. Harris was a homemaker. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and crocheting.

She is survived by five sons, Raymond (Cathy) Harris of New Virginia, Charles William "Chuck" (Gladys) Harris of Newton, Robert Harris of Chickamauga, Ga., Ron (Linda) Harris of Osceola and Stephen (Amanda) Harris of Grinnell; two daughters, Perry Ann Hinshaw of Abilene, Texas, and Agnes Stadnick of Marshalltown; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
