Janice Jean Bucklin, 69, of Newton died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A private family graveside service will be Friday at Newton Union Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Marzolf, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Newton, officiating. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
Friends may greet the family at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Tribute Center, located next door to the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Leo D. and Darlene (Davis) Agard, she was born May 12, 1936, in Newton. She attended Newton schools. On Jan. 22, 1954, she married Ray Bucklin in Newton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading to her family and to her grandson, Devin.

She is survived by three sons, Bret Bucklin and Brad Bucklin, both of Newton, and Bart (Donna) Bucklin of Des Moines; a daughter, Rae Jean Perkins of Newton; six grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her mother; a sister, Cheryl (Maurice) Cooper of Newton; and many uncles and aunts.
