BISHOP, HUNTER, MEMMELAAR

PRAIRIE CITY — Alan L. Bishop, 57, of Prairie City died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at his home.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Berean Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill, with burial at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Teen Challenge in Colfax or the Vietnam Memorial.

The son of Howard and Georgia (Hunter) Bishop, he was born Dec. 19, 1948, in Blooming Prairie, Minn. On Dec. 28, 1974, he married Sheryl Memmelaar at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella and was a member of the Berean Assembly of God Church in Pleasant Hill.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Holly (Joey) Davis of Prairie City, Becky Bishop of Springfield, Mo., Susan (Brandon) Schadek of Warsaw, Ind., and Jonie Bishop and her fiancé Chris Rademacher of Minneapolis; his parents of Chariton; a brother, John (Linda) Bishop of Spokane, Wash.; and two sisters, Diane (Gordon "Cork") Musick of Chariton and Carol Bishop of Indianola.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
