VERO BEACH, Fla. — Patricia J. Aunspach, 79, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Marshalltown, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Marshalltown. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Leighton at a later date.
A visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory is handling arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or Senior Citizens Center in her name.

The daughter of Herbert William and Minnie (Denberg) Barnhouse, she was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Peoria. She was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1947. She attended University of Iowa and graduated with a fine arts degree in 1951.

On Oct. 14, 1951, she married Dale Aunspach and they moved to Marshalltown a few years later. Although the marriage eventually ended, she remained a Marshalltown resident. She worked in the arts and crafts area of the Iowa Veterans Home for many years and after retirement, enjoyed worldwide traveling. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her brother, H.W. "Bill" (Nancy) Barnhouse of Vero Beach, Fla., and a nephew, niece and a cousin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
