Settle Case of Plowed Cemetery; Replace Markers
Elk Creek township trustees and John Boots, who farms in the area, settled their differences today over the plowing up of the neighborhood cemetery by Mr. Boots recently. Mr. Boots agreed to re-fence the cemetery area and keep it properly cared for in exchange for the use of the adjoining land.
The trustees said the grave markers would be replaced as they knew where they belonged. Mr. Boots removed the markers and plowed up the cemetery recently and seeded it to oats. The incident drew state-wide publicity but differences were settled in a friendly manner at a meeting at the court house this morning.
