Wedding Bells. Last Wednesday evening, January 11th, 1888, the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Little, of Palo Alto Township, was the scene of a pleasant wedding, the contracting parties being their daughter Jennie, and Mr. H. E. Weld, of Colby, Kansas. At 8 o’clock the wedding march played by Miss Laura Killduff sounded, and the bride and groom attended by Miss Olne and Mr. James Little entered the room. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. McCalmont, of Newton. Refreshments were served and with music and lively chat the guests spent a pleasant evening.

All agree in pronouncing it one of the most delightful social events of the season. Through the kindness of the family we are enabled to give a list of the presents:

Family Bible, Father and Mother Little;
Silverware, Father and Mother, Weld;
Silver Knives and Forks, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. France;

Mr. and Mrs. Weld expect to spend two weeks visiting friends in different parts of the county; at the end of which time they go to their new home in Colby, Kansas, where Mr. Weld is engaged in business. That they may live long and prosper is the wish of a host of friends. ~ The Newton Journal, 1-18-1888.
