Saturday the trustees of the Baptist church at Metz let the contract for the lumber for the new Baptist church to Denniston and Partridge and the contract for building to Joshua Crawford.

The work will begin as soon as possible. Some of the lumber was carted out today to the site where the new church will stand.

It is estimated that the building will cost, completed, in the neighborhood of $2000 and besides this much work will be donated.

The auditorium will seat two hundred or more and there will be a vestibule. The building will be heated by a furnace and lighted by acetylene lights. It will be nicely finished and as pretty and commodious building as can be built with the money.

The people at Metz have lost no time since it was declared that they would build a new church home. they have all worked harmoniously and with enthusiasm and with the aid of Rev. N. G. Thomas of this city have matters nicely under way. ~ The Newton Journal, 8 Feb 1911.
