Golden Wedding-Our genial old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Trager, were the victims of a very pleasant and enjoyable surprise, last Friday afternoon. That day was the 50th anniversary of their marriage, which fact becoming known to some of their friends, it was resolved that it was well worthy of a suitable celebration. Accordingly the worthy couple were invited out to dinner, and on their return home they found it captured and in possession of a company of about 30 or 40 of their friends, with tables spread and bountifully loaded with “good things for the inner-man.” The evening was a most pleasant one to all and to none more so than to Mr. and Mrs. Trager. The aged couple were united in marriage on the 6th day of August, 1836, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, by Rev. Shaw, a Methodist Missionary to the Indians, in that then new country, who, by the way was a brother to father C. B. Shaw, now living as one of their nearest neighbors. The 50 years of their married life have been a very eventful one, and could their history be written would be most interesting, and full of life’s battles bravely fought. After the pleasures of the evening had ended, the friends departed with the best wishes for the continued happiness of their host and hostess, and left in their hands a number of gifts as tokens of the love and esteem in which they are held. The following is a list, as far as we could learn them:
