Prairie City

Miss Ethelyn Gill, of Chicago, is visiting with relatives at this place.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilson were Des Moines visitors Sunday. Mr. Wilson returned in the evening but Mrs. Wilson remained for a week's visit with friends.

Mr. Frank Bowen made a business trip to Missouri last week.

The W. R. C. gave a dinner in their Hall on Tuesday, February 22. About sixty guests were present.

A change at the post office is expected about March fist, when Mr. T. W. Nickson will become post master instead of Mr. J. Mummert, who has held the office since Oct. 15, 1901. As soon as Mr. Mummert is relieved from duty, he expects to go to his family in Delhart, Texas, and after awhile they will move to their homestead in Mexico.

Mrs. Albert Danley died at Valley Junction Saturday, February 19. The funeral was held at the Christian church at this place on Monday. The body was laid to rest in the Vandalia cemetery.

Mr. Jay Danley was here to attend the funeral of his mother and also visited relatives.

Mrs. Rose Beach and son, Arthur, were visiting at the Charley Patterson home last week.

Lawrence Norton, of Kansas City went to Knoxville to visit friends before returning home.

Mrs. Robert Daniels is recovering from her recent serious illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nichols, of Traer, are visiting with the lady's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Thomas.

Miss Mollie Taylor went to Des Moines Friday to visit her friend, Miss May Chestnut. ~ The Newton Journal (Newton, Iowa), Wednesday, March 2, 1910, page 2.
