KENNINGTON, Henry M.
Farmer; S. 23; P. O. Box Newton; born in Kilkenny Co., Ireland in June 1827. He came to America in 1849, and located in Springfield, Mass., where he lived two years, working at the machinist trade, which he learned in Ireland. In 1851, he removed to Dayton, Ohio, and continued working at his trade until 1853, when he moved to Bloomington, Illinois, and engaged in farming, and the following year came to this county and located on his present farm of 160 acres, which he values at $10,000. Pays considerable attention to stock raising; usually keeps forty to fifty head of cattle, and 150 head of hogs. In 1852, he married Miss Margaret SLAUGHTER; they have six children living - John M., Lawrence S., Sarah F., Carrie L., Dora May and Maggie.
