DUNCAN, L. P., Mrs.
Farming; Sec. 23; P. O. Greencastle; born in Hancock Co., Ohio in 1831; removed to Adams Co., Ohio in 1832; thence to Jasper Co. in 1856. Has 120 acres of land, valued at $50 per acre. Married E. D. DUNCAN in 1852. Mrs. D.'s maiden name was WHITNEY. Mr. D. enlisted as Second Lieutenant in Co. B, 13th I. V. I. in 1861; killed in battle of Shiloh April 6, 1862; buried on battle field; leaving two children, Louisa K. and Edward L. ~ "Poweshiek Township Biographies," The History of Jasper County, Iowa, (Chicago: Western Historical Company, 1878)
