SCHARF, Adam
Barber and money loaner, north side of square. He was born 14 Jan 1831 in Helmstadt, Baden, Germany. In 1852 he came to St. Louis, in 1853 to Illinois, and in 1855 removed to Newton, Iowa. He owns his shop and other property in the city. He married Sophia WILLER in 1858. She was born in Baden, Germany in 1835. They have seven children---John A., William P., George A., Philip, Katie, Charles H., and Annie.
