HARTER, Mary A.
Farming; S. 17; P. O. Colfax, born in Hocking Co., Tenn.; her parents moved to Indiana when she was about 10 years old, and to Jasper Co., Illinois, when she was 14. Here she married Harvey GREEN; they had six children, five of whom are living - Cassey, Jane, Newton, Cynthia and Levi. Mr. G. died in 1858, and in 1859, she moved to this county, and was married to William HARTER in 1861. He died in 1877, and she now rents part of the land, and her son works part. The farm consists of 360 acres, valued at $35 per acre.
