My grandfather and 3 of his siblings were also placed in the Orphanage in Dubuque. It was called St Marys Orphanage. Your relative was there about the same time as my Grandfather. I am trying to determine if anyone is doing a history of this Orphanage. My Grandfather used to tell the most wonderful, funny stories about this place. I even have some of the people's names, and would love to include them in his Genealogy book. I had heard that a Priest at St Marys Church in Dubuque was compiling history about this Orphanage. If anyone knows about this, please email myself.
