BREAKTHROUGH!!!!
I just spoke to a far american relative by phone for the first time, the widow of Donald L. Davids. She is over 80 years of age. My heart was beating.... What a great day!!!
It was a nice talk and the old woman couldn't believe that an "alien" from Germany phoned
her and was able to say up all the ancestors, brothers and sisters of her gone husband.
We had a 12 minutes talk and were both very exited.
At the end she was crying when i asked for Donald. She is still mourning for Donald Davids who died in 2001.
Then i felt it's enough for the first time and ended the talk softly, trying to find some consoling words.
I couldn't get no further Names and Adresses of any children, nices, nephews or grandchildren who might be interested in their family history.
For themselves they'd never been so interested in geneologie.Certainly this generation had good reasons to drop their German identity if you think of WW1, WW2 and Holocaust.
I think i'll write her a letter. So she can take the stuff calmly to give it to other relatives.
Thanks to all the nice internet-citizens who gave assistance to me, especialy to you Pat, who delivered the most and the first information.
For those who might by interested:
1st link: birth place of Wilhelm Davids,Burg a. F.
2nd link: birth place of Lenke Ingwersen and Augusta Davids, born Ingwersen

regards Thorsten / Germany
