Jacob Dobson, for over sixty years, a resident of Sabula and vicinity, died early Tuesday morning, after an illness of five years, the past month of which his condition has been very critical.

Jacob Israel Dobson was born in Alleghany county, Pennsylvania , on September 28, 1858 and at the time of his death had reached the age of 69 years, five months and thirteen days. When a small boy of seven years he came to this vicinity with his parents, Abraham and Mary Dobson, both deceased, the father being a farmer. In 1881 the family moved from near Hauntown to this city, which has since been his home. Since the death of his father Mr. Dobson has made his home with his sister, Mrs Harvey Provin. His period of poor health dates back for five years, but he was able to be up and around until about a month ago.

Left to mourn his death are his sister, Mrs. Harvey Provin, and a brother Edward. Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters and four brothers. There are also a number of nephews and nieces surviving. Mr. Dobson was employed with the C.M.& St. Paul road for thirty-five years and was an industrious and faithful employee, an honest man and a good citizen. Many friends will regret to learn of his death.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Provin home. Rev W.T. Irwin of the Methodist church officiating. Hymns will be sung by Jess L. Tomlinson and burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
