Nola Jean Hoffmann

SPRAGUEVILLE — Nola Jean Hoffmann, 73, of Spragueville, died Sunday at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.

Private family funeral services will be Saturday at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. Burial will be in the Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. The Rev. Mark Grussendorf, of Pastoral Care at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 20, 1931, to Theodore Miller and Delia Ehlers Struble in Spragueville. She married Marlin D. Hoffmann on May 19, 1957, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

She attended Fairfield Township No. 4 Country School in Spragueville for eight years. She graduated from Preston High School in 1949.

After high school, she worked as a bookkeeper and teller at Farmers Savings Bank, Spragueville, for more than 22 years.

She was a member of the Real Farmers Daughters 4-H Club and was later a leader in that group. She was a member of the New Hope Organ Transplant Support Group and was a treasurer for Spragueville since 1970.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Kay of Spragueville; one sister, Joy Ehlers Struble of Preston; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the family in her name.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
