Henry E. Daehler, 83, of Maquoketa, died Friday at Jackson County Hospital.
The funeral was 10:30 a.m. today at Carson & Son Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Clair Odell of First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery.
He was born Jan 5, 1915 in Chadwick, Ill., to Conrad and Hazel Ethridge Daehler. He married Christine Yappen Oct 24 ,1936 in Clinton.
He had been employed with Clinton Engines as a Punch press supervisor for 15 years, and later worked with Sewer Equipment in Maquoketa as plant manager for 15 years, retiring in 1978.
Survivors include his wife ; two daughters, Mrs. Lonna (Gary) Schurbon, and Mrs Betty (Doug) Miller both of Maquoketa; a son, Larry Daehler of Maquoketa; nine grandchildren ; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter and Ralph Daehler, both of Maquoketa; and four sisters, Luella Genrich of Rockford ,Ill Gladys Kuhlemier, and Engar Hockhausen, both of Rock Falls, Ill., and Mrs. Hazel (Marvin) Wiggert of Buffalo Lake, Minn.
