John C. Yappen
John C Yappen, a young man eighteen years old died at the home of his parents in Iowa township, on Thursday morning last. Born to Mr and Mrs Cornelius Yappen, February 2, 1880 in Iowa township, the deceased was a young man highly respected by all who knew him and his death will be deeply regretted by his large circle of friends. He had been ill with pneumonia for the past two weeks and although quite low, it was not thought the end was near. He was improving nicely until last Saturday, when he suffered a relapse and on Wednesday appeared to be considerable brighter than he had been at any time since the relapse. About midnight, however, another sudden change for the worst came, and at seven o'clock, Thursday morning, he breathed his last. The deceased was a steady, industrious, upright young man and his death is a severe blow to his parents and sisters and brother, and they have the earnest sympathy of the community. The funeral was held at the family residence, Friday afternoon, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
