OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church for Mrs. Alice Sheldon, 80, who died Wednesday morning at her home in Lost Nation after two months' illness.

Rev. G. C. Lusted, Mount Vernon, officiated and hymns were sung by Mrs. Fred Lasack and Mrs. Fred Sacora, accompanied by Mrs. G. J. Bees. Miss Betty and Miss Donna Buck, Monmouth, had charge of floral arrangements.

Casket bearers were six grandsons, Lyle Sheldon, Myron Sheldon, Clyde Holtz, Marvin Sheldon, Edmund Sheldon and Gale Peters. Burial was in Mayflower cemetery.

Alice Odell, daughter of Orville and Catherine Odell, was born April 3, 1867, near Monmouth. She married Sylvester Sheldon on Feb. 22, 1886, and lived near Monmouth until a year and a half ago when she moved to Lost Nation. She was a member of the Methodist church, Monmouth.

Mrs. Sheldon is survived by two sons, Elias, Lost Nation, and Charles, Oxford Junction, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
