Bernita E. Webb, 85, of Grand Mound, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Crestridge Care Center, Maquoketa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine. Interment will be in Island Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Bernita’s name. Bernita Emilee Zimmerman was born on June 30, 1936 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Bernice (Shepard) Zimmerman. On June 28, 1959, she was united in marriage to Shelby Leroy Webb in Muscatine. Bernita graduated from Muscatine High School and went on to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Education from Iowa Wesleyan College. She then spent 42 years as a school teacher in the Calamus-Wheatland School District. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grand Mound. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers of all kinds- especially her peony bushes and pink roses. Bernita also loved playing bingo, traveling and taking pictures.

Bernita will be deeply missed by her husband, Shelby of Grand Mound and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Bernita was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Faith Allen.
