MAQUOKETA EVENTS
Second Death Message Brings Sadness to Waugh Home.
Maquoketa, March 22 -- The Ed. Waugh home has been having its share of sorrow the past week. First their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arthur Waugh died in a San Antonio, Tex., hospital. The deceased was accompanied by her husband and little 7 year old daughter, had gone there from Callahan, Colo., in the hopes of benefitting the child's health which had been poorly following an attack of scarlet fever. While there the mother took sick and passed on to the great beyond. Her remains were interred there. Now comes the sad news to the household again when Mr. Waugh received a telegram from Greeley, Colo., conveying the sad news of the sudden death of their daughter, Mrs. Rowland Hill. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and five children, the eldest being sixteen years old and the youngest five. They formerly resided between Elwood and Lost Nation. The remains left Greeley Thursday and will be brought back to Lost Nation for burial. The bereaved have the sympathy of all in their hour of sadness.
