Maquoketa, Ia. Dec. 24--At his home in Denver, Colo., Louis Cohn, a former resident and merchant of this city, passed away the first of the week, aged eighty five years. Mr. Cohn was one of the pioneer clothing merchants of Maquoketa, conducting a store in the early days in a frame building where the Lyon block now stands. Later he became a member of the firm of Dunn, Cohn & Mahony, still later entering into the same line of business with his son, Charles, under the firm name of L. Cohn & Son. A number of years ago he removed to Denver, which had since been his home. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Amelia Shibko of Chicago, and two sons, Nate of Chicago and Charles of San Francisco.
