Maquoketa, Ia., Aug. 27--Two well known Maquoketa residents were called to their reward Sunday. They are Charles Knorr and Elijah Gould.

Elijah Gould was a veteran of the Civil war, and last Tuesday and Wednesday attended the Jackson County Veterans' reunion held at Sabula. he became ill a few days ago and died at 11 o'clock Sunday evening at Mrs. Becker's hospital.

Surviving Mr. Gould are two sons and five daughters.
