The funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 29, 1976, at the Carson Funeral Home in Maquoketa, for Ernest Bickford, 73, of Monmouth. Mr. Bickford died Saturday at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa. Burial was in Canton Cemetery.

He was born April 7, 1903, in Ozark, Iowa, the son of Mark and Florence McCullough Bickford. He married Leitha Barkley February 19, 1925 in Maquoketa.

Mr. Bickford was a former highway commission employee.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Victor (Doris) Yaddof, Delmar; Mrs. Virgil (Lois) Yaddof, Davenport; Mrs. Arnold (Janice) Mohr, Bettendorf; Mrs. Carl (Margie) Stender, Jennison, Wisconsin; and Mrs. Marilyn Withey, Six Lakes, Michigan; two sons, Leroy, Monmouth; and Billy, Amhurst, Wisconsin; two sisters, Mrs. Leroy (Nita) Johnson, Maquoketa; and Mrs. Blanche Yarolem, Monmouth; one brother, Harlan, Maquoketa; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and one grandchild.
