Bellevue, Ia., Jan. 18--At his home on North Second street, Mr. Frederick Dierkes, after a long siege from paralysis of the brain, passed to his eternal rest Tuesday afternoon. He was born in Germany 70 years ago last October. He came to this country in 1863 and to Bellevue in 1865. He clerked for many years for Mr. Altfillisch, then formed a partnership with Mr. Schmer a few years later. He conducted the business alone until he retired a little over six years ago. He was twice married, his first wife being Miss Christina Yeager, who died several years ago. His second wife was Elizabeth Coster, who with two sons and a daughter survive him. The funeral was held Friday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery.
