Bellevue, Ia., Jan. 18--Mr. John Sharberg, Bellevue's old and respected express and mail carrier has passed from his labors, after but a week's illness of pneumonia being taken sick at a family gathering. Deceased was born in Sweden 70 years ago last August. He came to this country when 21 years of age. He was married at Boston, Mass. 43 years ago to Miss Augusta Turnblade and they came to Bellevue four years later and have made their home here ever since. He carried the mail between the post office and the depot and delivered express for 33 years. He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church, having been confirmed in that faith in his native country. He leaves his wife, one daughter and two sons. The daughter, having resided at Seattle, Washington for the past few years did not reach home until after he had passed away; Walter of Bellevue, at whose home he was taken sick and Arthur of Davenport. The funeral was conducted by Reverend Mutchman of St. John's Lutheran church, from the home Friday afternoon, and was largely attended, which with the many beautiful flowers testified to his large friendship. The body was laid to rest in the Presbyterian cemetery.
