Maquoketa, Iowa, Nov. 3--Mrs. Frank Ellis' brother, Mat Lynch, passed away last Saturday October 28, at St. Luke's hospital, Aberdeen, S.D. The remains were sent on to Garry Owen last Monday, where the young man's mother, Mrs. Alice Lynch, resides, and were laid to rest in St. Patrick's church cemetery Tuesday, Father Coffey officiating. Mat Lynch was born in Garry Owen, July 16, 1884, making him 31 years old. He was an upright young man, who easily won friends and retained them. For about ten years he had been in the employ of the C. M. & St. P. railroad. He leaves besides his mother and sister, Mrs. Frank Ellis, of Maquoketa, his sister, Elizabeth, at home; a brother, James of Butte, Mont., and Tom, Mike and Peter of Garry Owen. The latter, Peter, is in a hospital in Chicago at present. The funeral was largely attended, for the family has many friends around here.
