Maquoketa, Iowa, July 5--Conrad Nigg passed away from this world to the other Monday morning, July 3, 1916, at 4 o'clock, aged 81 years, 7 months and 9 days. He was born in France Nov. 24, 1834.

He was an upright man of sterling qualities and up until a few years ago was a powerful man physically and a hard worker. He served in the French army and came to this city a good many years ago.

Mr. Nigg leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss, Lewis of Keystone, Iowa, Mrs. James Young, city, Will, Sioux city, Iowa, and Charles, now in Japan. The funeral was held today at 2 p.m. Interment at Mt. Hope cemetery.
