7 June 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

Baldwin, Iowa, June 7--Miss Edna Schrader, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schrader, passed away at her parents' home in Bellevue at one o'clock Monday. Her death came as an overwhelming shock to her family and friends--unexpected, undreamed of was the report of her death to many when it reached them and almost unbelievable.

Miss Schrader was not feeling in just her usual health Saturday. Nevertheless when Sunday came she attended both morning and evening services at the Lutheran church, of which she and family are members. At 9 o'clock p.m. she was feeling commonly well--was taken very sick before morning and in face of fact medical aid being constantly at hand also a physician was summoned from Dubuque to her assistance, she passed from this life, breathing her last at one p.m. Monday, amid a sorrowing family, parents, brothers and sister. Miss Schrader was to have been a bride not many days hence. All her bereft ones certainly have the sympathy of all the community.
