OTTER CREEK, Iowa - Daniel F. Coakley, 88, of Otter Creek, died after a brief illness Saturday, Jan. 27, 1996, at his daughter's home in Key West.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Otter Creek, with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, North Garryowen. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where there will be a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Coakley farmed in the Otter Creek and Bernard area all of his life.

Daniel F. Coakley was born on March 20, 1907, in rural Jackson County, son of Florence and Anna (Faye) Coakley. He married Helen M. McAndrews on May 19, 1936, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Melleray.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Otter Creek.

Surviving are a daughter, Margie (Don) Welsh, of Key West; two sons, David (and Mary Jane) Coakley, of Middleton, Wis., and Loras Coakley, of Dubuque; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, on Sept. 1, 1990; a son, Roger, in 1949; his parents; three sisters; and four brothers.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque Inc.
