Death of Mrs. Eliza Jane Allen.

Mrs. Eliza Jane Allen, one of the respected residents of South Garryowen, died Friday morning at 5:45, the cause of death being diabetes and gangrene of the foot.

Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 8, 1846, at St. John's, New Brunswick, Canada. She was married to Mr. Allen on April 19, 1870. He died on July, 1879. Five children were born to them: James Joseph Allen; John and Thomas at home; Mrs. Margaret E. Slattery and Mrs. Mary B. Ahern.

The funeral services were held at St. Aloysius church, South Garryowen, Monday morning at 9:00, with Requiem High Mass, Rev. A. J. Walshe, celebrant; Rev. P. J. Coffey of St. Patrick's church, deacon; Rev. P. M. Loughnane, of Otter Creek, sub-deacon.

Interment was made in the North Garryowen cemetery. The pall bearers were: John Penny, Daniel Sullivan, John Slattery, John M. Penny, Daniel Ahearn, Maurice Donovan, James Shanahan, Mike Kennedy.
