Maquoketa, Ia. Oct. 11, - SPECIAL: Mrs. J. C. Marvin, 49, died Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at the city hospital. She submitted on Wednesday evening to a very severe emergency operation, but her life was despaired of from the first.

She is survived by her husband and one son, Joseph, and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Harvey of Clay Center, Kansas. Funeral services will be held Monday from the family home at 205 S. Otto Street, the Rev. G. F. Barsalow, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated, and burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

The Marvin family had returned to Maquoketa only a year ago, after an absence of about eight years and bought the home where they now reside. Mr. Marvin, a contracting engineer, had been in Montana for the last several months, on a big contract, and arrived home Friday morning. The sister came on Thursday morning. Mrs. Marvin was born in Pennsylvania.
