John Brown, one of the oldest residents of Dubuque, died at St. Anthony’s Home for the aged, Wednesday morning at 1 o’clock. The deceased was a native of Ireland, but came to America when a youth, settling in Dubuque, and has lived in this vicinity ever since. He followed railroading for many years and was well and favorably known in this city.His only surviving relatives are two nephews, Michael and Patrick Regan, of this city, and two nieces, Mrs. Peter Welter and Mrs. Wm. McCabe, of LaMotte.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 7 o’clock from Bennett’s undertaking rooms to St. Theresa’s.
