Maquoketa Excelsior, July 15, 1892

Adam Baker was stricken with apoplexy Tuesday night and died at four o'clock yesterday morning. He had been in poor health for many months. He was a bachelor, aged 55 years. The funeral will be held at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, under the auspices of the A. W. Drips Post of the Grand Army of the Republic, to which organization he was recently elected, but had not been mustered in. Mr. Baker was of German nativity and had many desirable traits of character.
