Paul Haxmeier

Paul Haxmeier, 62, retired farmer and former supervisor of Jackson County, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday at Bellevue Memorial Hospital. he had been ill several months, seriously so for five days. He lived eight miles northwest of Bellevue.

Friends may call at the Didesch Funeral Home. The funeral cortege will leave Dubuque at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday for St. Donatus Church, with mass scheduled at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Donatus Cemetery.

He was born May 7, 1890, at Bellevue, a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Gilles Haxmeier. He married Florence Lampe. He was a member of St. Donatus Church, the Holy Name Society and St. Joseph Society.

Surviving are the wife; four daughters, Mrs. Lester (Bernice) Keil, of Bellevue, Mrs. Mark (Leona) Till and Mrs. John (Rosella) Manderscheid, both of LaMotte, IA, and Lucille, at home; five sons, Orville and Ralph Haxmeier both of LaMotte, Delbert, a soldier stationed at Camp Roberts in California, and James and LaVerne, both at home; nine grandchildren; two brothers, John Haxmeier of Dubuque, and Peter, of Orleans, Neb.; five sisters, Mrs. Frances Reis of Bellevue, Mrs. John (Christina) Specht, of Orleans, and Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Kass, Mrs. Henry (Kate) Mangers and Mrs. Frank (Louise) Mangers, all of Roselind, Neb., and nieces and nephews. He was preceded by two sons, a brother and a sister.

The Nemmers-Didesch Funeral Service has charge.
