Vincent N. Nemmers

Vincent N. Nemmers, 78, of 9620 Maquoketa Drive, formerly of Otter Creek, Iowa, died at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 1992 at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Key West, Iowa, with burial at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Otter Creek. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Council 4236 rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Nemmers farmed in the Otter Creek area until 1970. He then worked as a security guard at American Trust and Savings Bank, Dubuque, and in the housekeeping department at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

He was born Oct 11, 1913 in LaMotte, Iowa, son of Peter and Mary (Herrig) Nemmers. He married Louise Federspiel on Oct. 2, 1940, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Garryowen, rural Bernard; she died on Nov. 10, 1979.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Phil (Audrey) Lambe of Cuba City, Wis., and Mrs. Ken (Mary Lou) Althoff of Maquoketa, Iowa; a son, Ronald V. (and Jane) of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Leona) Schiffer of Zwingle, Iowa, and Mrs. James (Clara) Lambe of Maquoketa.
