OBITUARY

Bowman- On the 16th of July 1881, at his home, of heart disease, Jacob Bowman age 83 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Mr. Bowman was born in Rockingham County in Virginia, on the 14th of March in 1793. On the 2oth of November 183_ he married Elizabeth Keister, who still survives him. In 1851 he moved to Iowa, where he resided until his death. Mr. Bowman was the father of fourteen children, ten of whom are still living-five sons and five daughters. he was the grandfather of sixty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Bowman united with the Christian Church in 1827. He was an affectionate husband, a kind father and an obliging neighbor.
