Jackson Sentinel, April 19, 1883

DOHERTY-
At her home in Richland township, after a brief, but painful illness of lung fever, on April 9th last, Ellie, wife of John Doherty, and daughter of Dennis and B. O'Connor died. She leaves a bereft husband and two small children who sadly feel their loss. Her youngest child, Maggie, died a few weeks ago. The funeral took place Wednesday. She was interred in St. Lawrence cemetery where a large concourse of relatives and friends assembled to pay their last debt and tribute to their deceased friend. She was a kind and noble hearted lady, and beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a large circle of relatives and friends who mourn for her. God in his goodness called her to a brighter and more blissful abode, so mourners dry you tears and weep no more for her.
