Mrs. Mary Scheckel of Springbrook, IA.
One of Jackson County's pioneer residents died Tuesday 3-6-1928. She was the daughter of John and Mary Schreiner. She was united in marriage to Peter Scheckel in 1858, who preceded her in death.
She was the mother of sixteen children of whom ten survive. Namely: Phillip, Mathias, John, Nick, Peter, Mrs. Lena Even, Mrs. Kate Entringer, Mrs. Anna Entringer, Mrs. Mary Schmidt and Mrs. Catherine Schmidt. She also leaves one sister Mrs. Margaret Puetz, 81 grandchildren and 88 great grandchildren. Funeral services are at SS. Peter and Paul's Church, Springbrook,IA. with burial in ajoining cemetery.
